Guided Response Clay Jensen

So far I have come to this conclusion that Clay is genuinely a kind and loving person. Or just simply curious which is why he is following her map and tapes. I would be a little bit weirded out if I received a box full of tapes regarding the death of someone I cared about. I think Clay is in a very emotional state and just wants to find out what made Hannah Baker choose suicide over life. I would also want to know if I was in his particular situation as well. As I was reading all of the places she had gone and people she had seen Clay is expierencing for the first time. I can't say that if I was given a box of tapes from someone who I thought I cared about or even so much as wanted to date that I wouldn't listen and then eventually I would want to follow and go to those places because it's the last place the person I cared about went. Or even if they loved that particular spot then I would feel like their presence is almost there, like I was getting to see them for the last time. I really do have compassion for Clay because I haven't met too many people who would just drop whatever it is that their doing and go on a hunt to all the places that influeneced her decision. I am already finished with the book and I am very pleased with the life lesson Clay learned from all of this.

  4. I was very relieved after I read past the part where we learn about Clay's involvement. And you're right. I think he learned a lesson about silence.
